The Secret Garden Tea Room
Open hours are 11am – 4pm Monday – Saturday.
The Cafe is situated within the walls of the rescue centre on Shire Road, Pleasley Vale. You can sit in the grounds and enjoy the wildlife that roams freely. Please do not approach any of the wildlife, if they wish to interact with you they will do this of their own accord. Please do not let your children chase the animals, this is the perfect time to teach the younger generation about the animals within the centre and to respect them and their habitat.
Dogs are welcome but please keep them on a lead and under control. If your dog is reactive to other animals there is a seating area outside in our woodland that you are welcome to use.
Please remember first and foremost that the centre is home to many species of wildlife, those that pose no danger to the public are given the choice to roam freely in the grounds while recovering in a natural environment rather than a cage and leave us if they wish to do so once they are fit and healthy, we also have a few disabled animals that can not be released but can still have a meaningful life living within the safety of the rescue and can be monitored daily. We would therefore ask you to respect this during your visit.
We do have a variety of free flying birds such as magpies, crows and jackdaws some of them like shiny objects or anything small enough to carry away as a souvenir. We would therefore advise that car keys and small items are securely kept in your pockets or bag and not left on the tables outside during your visit.
We look forward to seeing you and we hope you enjoy your visit.
